Doing the Work
How are you doing? feels like the dumbest question to ask these days.
There is so much going on.
But, I'm writing because I want to check in with you. I really do want to know...how are you doing? Hit the "reply" button and tell me. I'm happy to receive your message.
Listen. Learn. Act. Grow.
Like I said, there is so much going on. But these four words have been guiding me for the past several weeks.
I shared this post at the end of May, but since then I've been a bit more quiet, doing the work of listening to Black voices and making space online for their leadership, learning more deeply about systemic racism, acting in the form of education, conversations, calls, petitions, cleaning up my community, etc., and growing in ways of understanding how best to show up in allyship as a business owner, as a parent, as a leader, and as a human.
This is important and necessary work to do.
I will keep doing this work and moving forward in my imperfect ways to make it perfectly clear where I stand: Black Lives Matter.

PS. Although restrictions for outdoor work have lifted, I have decided to hold off on scheduling photo sessions for a bit longer. I miss my clients and look forward to seeing you all again soon! Click here for info on how I plan to keep your family safe at our photo session.
